Tonight details continue to filter in regarding a major trade in the NHL. Elias Lindholm will be heading to Vancouver and now a top defensive prospect is heading back the other way.
Calgary Flames To Receive Top Defensive Prospect For Lindholm
A new report from Darren Dreger has confirmed that Vancouver Canucks highly drafted defenseman Hunter Brzustewicz will be heading to Calgary in the deal.
After a solid season in the OHL in his draft year Brzustewicz has taken off this season. In 47 OHL games, he has 69 points compared to 57 in 20 more games last season. The Flames have a very shallow defensive prospect pool that will now be bolstered by this addition.
Along with this will be several picks and forward Andrei Kuzmenko heading back to the Flames.
It will be interesting to see if Lindholm can play well enough to justify the amount of assets given up to land him.
