The Columbus Blue Jackets have already stated that they are willing to listen to offers on just about anyone on their roster. It seems like that might be the case with goaltender Elvis Merzlikins, who seems to be looking for a new club as well.

While Merzlikins os not exactly a great goalie at the NHL level, he would certainly be an upgrade on Calvin Pickard and he's someone that the club might feel okay about as a backup going into the playoffs. But if acquiring him means giving up Jack Campbell as well, then the Oilers may very well be extremely interested in a deal.
Blue Jackets Seeking Major Organizational Change
The Blue Jackets could be on track for a organization-wide fire sale as players and front office employees alike are in sudden danger of losing their jobs or being traded elsewhere.

Regardless though, the Oilers need to do something about their goaltending situation and the Blue Jackets might be able to help them. All there is to do now is to finalize a deal.
