Leafs Acquire Lybushkin From Ducks In Three-Team Deal
The team acquired defenseman Ilya Lybushkin from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a a 3rd round pick. The Ducks retained 50% on his salary while the Carolina Hurricanes also retained 50% on the remainder, acquiring a 6th round pick for their services.

it is not clear which team has sent a 6th round pick to the Carolina Hurricanes, but more insiders have since confirmed this trade. The deal is currently pending a call with the league.
The Leafs get Lybushkin under league minimum thanks to the 75% retention on his salary. This gives the team plenty of room to make additional moves as they see fit.
The #leafs are acquiring Ilya Lyubushkin at a cap hit of $687,500 with double retention -- less than the league minimum salary. That leaves plenty of room for further moves before the March 8 trade deadline.
