The San Jose Sharks roster is a mess right now, and perhaps that's due to paying players big money who may not deserve it, and now, it appears they're looking to rectify those actions.
A veteran defenseman
After years of declining play, the Sharks are now officially scratching Marc-Edouard Vlasic, despite the hefty $7 million price tag that accompanies his name.
Blackwood starts, #SJSharks going 12F-6D, Bordeleau is in and Vlasic sits.
The veteran of over 1,200 NHL games has combined for a -60 over the past five years in San Jose, as he is in the sixth year of an eight-year deal that carries a $7 million annual cap hit.
Ultimately, he was once one of the best defensive defenseman in the NHL alongside Brent Burns, but at 36-years of age, he's clearly not the best option for the Sharks now, as they look to get younger ahead of a potential buy out for Vlasic.
