Alex Galchenyuk's legal problems have gotten even worse than they already were. After his recent arrest for a hit and run incident that saw him hurl threats of violence and racial slurs at police (and led his contract with the Arizona Coyotes being terminated after 12 days), it's been revealed that he has now been sued by the Royal Bank of Canada.
As reported by Le Journal de Montréal, the 29-year-old third overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft is being sued for close to $400,000.
Back in 2014, when Galchenyuk was a member of the Montreal Canadiens, he'd taken out a loan close to $300,000 USD. He has since allegedly not repaid the loan to the bank, even after being told by RBC that he'd been in default this past April. RBC is now asking him to repay the entire loan, plus a 9.2% interest rate per year.
