Coyotes employee takes shots at Gary Bettman for relocation of team
A worker found a poster presumably made by a Coyotes employee that taunts Gary Bettman with a Monty Python reference. The poster was captured on picture and quickly made its rounds around social media.
The poster referenced the 1975 film, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," quoting a popular scene from the movie. It reads:
Gary Bettman's mother was a hamster, and his father smelled of elder berries!
This is a reference to the scene where King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table come across a castle inhabited by Frenchmen. The Frenchmen taunt and tease King Arthur and his party including the phrase quoted by the presumed Coyotes employee.
This is most likely just a disgruntled employee taking a shot at the NHL commissioner. Perhaps there is no further reason to look into it. Obviously employees are going to be hurt by this move. It is not so surprising that something like this would happen, especially considering the way ownership has handled things. The team has been silent on social media platforms since the 13th, when they released the following statement:
There has been a lot of discussion in recent days about the future of the Arizona Coyotes. I understand and emphasize with the concerns of our fans, Our community, our partners, our players, our front office, and all of our team members. I hope to address these issues as soon as I can speak on the topics. We are focused on a a myriad of issues that are unresolved, and therefore we are unable to make any official public comments at this time. However, you have my commitment that I am going to speak on all of these issues and publicly address all of our concerns as promptly as possible."
It is believes that the team's relocation could be announced officially by the NHL as early as Thursday night, the same day as their last game of the season. We will just have to wait for that time to come.
