Over the weekend, alarming details emerged regarding the arrest of Boston Bruins' forward Milan Lucic.

Lucic Fights Charges By Pleading Not Guilty

The Bruins likely have a case to terminate Lucic's contract under the NHL's morality clause, but they have not done so yet. It is possible that the team is awaiting the results of the trial before they make anything official. Some believe that the team is waiting until Lucic completes his mandatory 30-day minimum stay in the Player's assistance program before making the move official.
Notably, Lucic did plead not guilty to the charge of assault and battery.
Assault and battery carries a maximum sentence of two years in jail and a 1000 dollar fine in the state of Massachusetts.
