At this point, there may be more former Maple Leafs in the NHL than any other team, and now three of them have officially announced their arrival in Buffalo.
The 2024/25 NHL season is rapidly approaching, and one of the most intriguing teams in the league this year will be the Buffalo Sabres, who are loaded with young talent as they look to end their NHL leading 15 year playoff drought. They will head into the season with plenty of new faces, and now, three former Maple Leafs have revealed their new numbers with Toronto's rival.
All three of these players are intriguing veteran additions for Buffalo, as they will be joining a team led by the likes of Owen Power, Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin, who are all ready to push Buffalo into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. While none are all-time great Maple Leafs, they played their role well with Toronto, and now they will be playing for one of their biggest rivals and looking to knock them off at any opportunity in 2024/25.
As for the Sabres as a whole, their chances of a Wild Card spot are very solid, but until they can turn the potential into production, many will continue to believe that the playoff drought will roll on.
