In breaking news, this Calgary Flames prospect has just begun his trial, in which he faces charges that could land him years in prison.

Flames Prospect Ronni Facing Charges Which Could Land Him in Prison

The Calgary Flames drafted Topi Ronni in the second round of the 2022 NHL entry draft. Shortly after, it was revealed that Ronni would be facing charges of assault on a woman in his home country of Finland. Ronni's trial has now begun, and he is facing potentially years in prison if found guilty.
The Calgary Flames released the following statement regarding Ronni's legal issue after they became aware of the situation after they drafted him.
"We became aware of a potential legal issue involving Topi Ronni following our selection of him in the 2022 NHL Draft. We take this matter seriously and will let the legal process follow its due course. We have no further comment at this time."
Ronni had previously denied the charges and had said that he would be fighting for his innocence. He. has not commented on the trial since it began. We await further details as they are revealed.
