Johnny Gaudreau's passing has been incredibly tough for everyone in the NHL, and now one of his former Flames teammates has opened up on the tragic passing.

This summer has been one of plenty of excitement for the NHL, but also grief and tragedy, with the passing of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau shocking the entire hockey world. There have been many tributes given to the former Flames and Blue Jackets superstar, but now as training camp begins, more and more of his former teammates have opened up on the tragedy.

Johnny was... one of my best friends in hockey. So definitely very sad, going to miss him.

Those were the words of Andrew Mangiapane, who played alongside Gaudreau for years with the Calgary Flames, who like many saw the incredible personality and character of Gaudreau on and off the ice.

Together, the two electrified the city of Calgary alongside the likes of Sean Monahan, Elias Lindholm and Matthew Tkachuk, and it's clear to see that the emotion will never quite go away for those that were close to him. The Blue Jackets and Flames have done their best to honour their former superstar, and those tributes will continue throughout the season, and with so many people around the NHL that loved and played alongside Johnny, it's safe to say that he will never be forgotten.
