At the Toronto Maple Leafs' training camp, tensions rose during an altercation between Max Domi and Simon Benoit after a drill.
Yesterday, the Toronto Maple Leafs players and prospects were on the ice for a team practice. As we often see during training camps, where players compete for a lineup spot, two teammates went at it during an exercise.
Defenseman Simon Benoit, who's looking to impress the coaching staff to confirm his place in the Leafs' defensive unit, clashed with Max Domi.
Domi, whose spot is already confirmed, still wants to get on the good side of his new head coach, Craig Berube, and show that he can be trusted.

At the end of the practice session, Benoit led the team stretch at center ice and received stick taps from his teammates, including William Nylander and Domi himself.

In his post-practice interview, Simon Benoit confirmed that both players laughed about the incident afterward and even joked with reporters about how he just wanted to show Domi his new dad strength.
