Defenseman Brett Pesce, renowned as a valuable player for the Carolina Hurricanes, might be looking at a change of scenery.

The 28-year-old's skills have caught the attention of several teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs.

What's The Fourth Period Saying?

David Pagnotta, reporting for The Fourth Period, has stated that the Hurricanes' management will either extend Pesce's contract or trade him before he enters his final year. Pesce signed a six-year deal with the Hurricanes back in 2018, which is now nearing its end.

Who's in the Race?

The situation will be resolved by July 1, marking either Pesce's departure or stay. Apart from the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators have also expressed interest in the defenseman.

Trade Rumors and Pesce's Track Record

The possibility of Pesce being traded away from the Hurricanes has been a subject of discussion for a while. His potential addition would certainly strengthen the defensive line of the Toronto Maple Leafs, popularly known as "the Buds".

In the previous season, Pesce showed commendable performance by scoring 30 points after participating in all 82 season games for the Carolina Hurricanes.
