The Vancouver Canucks are trading F Anthony Beauvillier to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round pick, according to multiple reports.
Chicago added $4M in additional cap space by placing F Corey Perry on waivers for the purpose of contract termination earlier today, Beauvillier being used to keep the Blackhawks above the cap.
Beauvillier, 26, is in the final year of a three-year contract with a $4.15M AAV. Beauvillier has 2 Goals and 8 Points in 22 Games for Vancouver this season, with a career 11 Goals, 17 Assists & 28 Points in 55 Games. Prior, Beauvillier spent his first 7 seasons with the New York Islanders, traded to Vancouver in the deal that sent Bo Horvat the other way.
