In a recent interview, Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson commented on the controversial and drama-filled beginning to their season.
Blackhawks General Manager Comments Further On Perry
Leading back into the start of NHL action after the Christmas break Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson spoke to the media. During his availability, he spoke about the difficult times the team has faced this season. This included both the Corey Perry incident and the passing of Kevin Korchinski's father.
«These jobs aren't easy. You're responsible for so many people. Whether it's that (Perry) event or something very different with Kevin (Korchinski, whose father died) and his family, you feel everything, because you care about your players and your staff, and you care about their families."
Davidson admits that as a person and organization, these difficult moments affect him. He also says that the good moments and steps in the right direction have been noticed as well.
"When something happens and it's a positive, you feel that in a great way. When it's a negative, you feel that in a really negative way. You carry a lot of the ups and downs of the group in your everyday job"
He also commented more on the status of the Corey Perry investigation and scandal. According to Davidson, the matter is done and in the rearview mirror for the organization.
"(On the Corey Perry incident) We handled it and we got through it, but I'm happy it's in the past.»
With all of these difficult situations in the past for Chicago Blackhawks they can get back to focusing on hockey. It will be interesting to see if the Blackhawks can have a bit of a resurgence with all of the chaos behind them.
