It is no secret that the Chicago Blackhawks are in a rebuild. The franchise got a huge boost in the rebuild last year when they won the draft lottery and got Connor Bedard with the first pick. The team surrounded Bedard with several veterans while keeping their options open with regards to trades. One player the team is reportedly interested in moving is Nick Foligno.

Blackhawks Set To Trade Forward Foligno To Playoff Contender

Many teams would be interested in Foligno's services. While he may not come with much offensive upside at this point in his career, he still brings a clam veteran presence that can boost any team's leadership group. Additionally, he can play in all situations and be a reliable player to depend upon in big moments.
Two teams that are reportedly interested in his services are the New York Rangers and the LA Kings.

New York Rangers, LA Kings Look To Acquire Foligno

The Rangers bottom six is a little bit questionable so Foligno could be a solid pickup for them. He would be a big upgrade on Jimmy Vesey for the fourth line or even an option over Will Cuylle on the 3rd line. He would also give the team a little insurance in case someone gets injured, particularly on the left wing.
The Kings case for Foligno is a bit more difficult. The team's 3rd line of Trevor Moore, Philip Danault, and Arthur Kaliyev is one of the best in the league so they likely would not want to break them up. He would be an upgrade over Carl Grundstrom on the 4th line, but with a 4 million dollar price tag that position wouldn't make much sense for him. Perhaps if the Blackhawks retain 50% of his salary the Kings would like the move.
