The Colorado Avalanche have been extremely unlucky with injuries in recent times, and now, they've got another major one to deal with as the 2023-24 season draws near.

Another major piece

The Avalanche won the Stanley Cup just two seasons ago, and now, with a very similar roster, they look to do the same again behind stars Cale Makar and Nathan MacKinnon.
Unfortunately, much of the depth from that Cup winning year has departed, and now, with more injury issues, it becomes that much tougher, especially if they can't figure out the goaltending situation.

A big loss

According to a report, Pavel Francouz will now miss a significant portion of the season, as he is yet to fully recover from adductor surgery that he had over the summer.
#Avs appear to be examining options on the goalie market. Sounds like Pavel Francouz has not completely recovered from his offseason adductor surgery and there is concern he will miss some time.
In 16 games a year ago, Francouz was vital for the team, and now, they'll look for goaltender help as it's uncertain when Francouz will return, and with many veteran options out there, it appears a big move could be on the horizon for Colorado.
