Chances are you've heard about the ongoing wildfires rampaging parts of the Canadian wilderness by now. This heartbreaking natural disaster is forcing thousands of families to leave their homes, and many people aren't sure if they'll even have a home to come back to when it's all said and done.

Girard Does His Part

Girard resides in the town of Roberval, Quebec, during the offseason, and as many people flee their homes out of fear of the fire, Girard has graciously opened his home to the victims.
With thousands of families in Quebec forced to evacuate due to the ongoing forest fires, Sam Girard opened his home in Roberval to victims of the fires.

Two families, which includes a 14-month old baby are currently staying in his bedroom, with more on the way.

With many of the community centres being filled up, these families would be left with no where else to turn without people like Girard.

This is the ultimate classy move from one of the game's best personalities. Girard has the resources to get away from the wildfires and the crowded communities but instead chose to rise above and open up his home to those in desperate need.

Fans Applaud Girard's Actions

Fans on social media were quick to praise Girard for his selfless nature. Check out what they had to say.
We appreciate everything Sam is doing to keep people safe. Everyone should take a page out of Girard's book.
