Ottawa Senators star Brady Tkachuk, one of the NHL's toughest players, continued to keep his menacing streak alive, laying a strong hit on Dallas Stars star defenseman Miro Heiskanen, catching him by the shoulder.
What caught the eyes of some fans was the fact that an offside whistle had been blow, rendering the play dead. Tkachuk was already in motion to deliver the hit, and may have not have had the time to stop.
Tkachuk, who leads the NHL in Penalty Minutes with 69, is one of the NHL's top enforcers. His brother Matthew alike and father Keith before. Brady and Matthew finished 3rd and 4th in Penalty Minutes last season with 126 and 123 respectively.
Since entering the NHL in 2018, Tkachuk has the most PIM by any NHLer in that span with 562, but has backed up his gritty play with 138 Goals, 156 Assists & 294 Points in that time as well, earning 3 All-Star nods.
Luckily for Stars fans, Heiskanen was alright and continued the game, having appeared to have avoided serious injury to his shoulder on the play.
