In recent seasons, Roope Hintz, the Dallas Stars forward, has quietly established himself as one of the NHL's most underrated talents. Holding an impressive average of .99 points per game over the last three years, his prowess on the ice often goes unnoticed amidst the rise of Jason Robertson and standout goaltender Jake Oettinger.
At 26 years old, Hintz takes on multifaceted roles for the Dallas team. In the previous season's 73 games, he impressively tallied 37 goals and 75 points, making significant contributions with 9 powerplay goals and 3 short-handed goals. His outstanding performance prompted the Stars to reward him with an eight-year, $67,600,000 contract in November of last year.

A Calling From Home

Last season, Hintz masterfully anchored one of hockey's premier lines, collaborating with Robertson and Joe Pavelski. As the upcoming season approaches, he aims to replicate this exceptional performance before his off-season regimen is interrupted by impending military service next summer.
In line with Finnish regulations, every male citizen is mandated to undergo mandatory military service. For Hintz, the plan had been to fulfill his obligation this summer, but circumstances have since shifted.
In a recent interview, Hintz had these quotes to share:
"I haven't joined the army yet, it's still ahead,"

"Next Sumer I will probably join the army"

"They all know that here everyone has to go through the army"
