The Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane announced a new business venture unrelated to hockey.
While Kane hasn't been able to perform up to his own expectations in the Stanley Cup playoffs because of injuries, out of the ice, things seem to be looking up for the controversial player.
Following years of personal struggles that tarnished his reputation across the National Hockey League, he finally looks ready to move forward.
Kane announced that he released his own wine called "Dovetail", in collaboration with City Country Wine, a vineyard in Calgary.
Here's his official announcement, as posted on Instagram:
"Very excited to announce my first wine, Dovetail, with @citycountrywine. Bold, balanced, and approachable, Dovetail Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect pour. Visit the link in my bio."
Since the Oilers' elimination in the seventh game of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers, Kane has been involved in plenty of trade and buyout rumours.
"It would probably be beneficial for the Oilers to get Evander Kane's contract off the books"
His performances were underwhelming, but seeing him battle through injuries has been inspiring and he deserves a chance to bounce back from his tough season.
