Marc-Andre Fleury has done almost everything one can do as an NHL goalie in his two decades in the league. He has now pledged to do one more thing before he retires.
Fleury Pledges to Fight Before He Retires
Marc-Andre Fleury has commented after a chaotic sequence in which Evgeny Svechnikov attempted to provoke him into a fight.
"Yeah, he gave me a little shrug," Fleury said as per The Athletic. «I don't know. I wouldn't mind it. I had a fight in junior and broke a knuckle, I had to miss a few weeks. It's the end of the season, so no time for that."
"I kind of want (a fight). But it's not the right time to fool around," said Fleury of being so close to the playoffs.
It was a smart decision for Fleury to avoid the risk of injury, especially with the playoffs approaching. However, given Fleury's personality, it's likely that he will find a way to engage in a fight before he retires.
The only uncertainty is who will have the misfortune of being his opponent!
