Devils Defenseman Loses His Cool, Violently Slashes Flyers' Star

Last night's game between the New Jersey Devils and the Philadelphia Flyers required overtime to determine a winner.
The Devils got the upper hand, with a great goal by Luke Hughes, with the help of his brother Jack.
But earlier in the game, during the third period, another Devils defenseman, Brendan Smith, lost his cool and gave a violent slash to one of the Flyers' top players: Travis Konecny.
Konecny gave him a cross-check on the back, and Smith retaliated.

Player Safety Will Review the Incident, Hearing Later Today

Player Safety announced a hearing for Smith that will go down later today.
"New Jersey's Brendan Smith will have a hearing Friday for slashing Philadelphia's Travis Konecny."
Retaliation is one thing, but a violent, two-handed slash isn't welcome in the NHL.
Do you think he'll be suspended?
