Matt Rempe has been a force for the New York Rangers this season, and now it appears his reputation is hurting him with a ridiculous call from the officials.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs have officially begun for the New York Rangers, with many NHL fans looking forward to this run for one reason; Matt Rempe. The 6-foot-7 rookie has caused mayhem all season long, and on his first playoff shift, he took a ridiculous penalty.
Matt Rempe takes a penalty in his 1st shift in the playoffs 😅
Rempe was called for a charge on a clean hit, and unsurprisingly, fans in the replies were calling out the officials, and rightfully so.
By definition, I cannot understand how that's a charge. Refs were ready to call Rempe before he stepped on the ice
Rempe is going to do plenty of good for the Rangers this playoff run, but his reputation appears to already be hurting him, as he spends two minutes in the box early in his playoff career for a call that few others in the NHL would be called on.
