Matt Rempe was recently handed a four-game suspension, and now he has opened up on just what he learned over that time.

After taking the NHL world by storm,
Matt Rempe faces a very tough reputation already, with the enforcer's of opposing teams always putting a major target on his back.
Matt Rempe has been suspended 4 games for elbowing Jonas Siegenthaler
Now, the 21-year old phenom has been asked about what he learned over that time, and this is what he had to say;
«More control of my body, just stuff like that. If a guy is pulling out of a hit, just got to be careful. It was an accident. I thought I was going to hit the wall Never want to see a guy get hurt or anything
While the rookie forward certainly plays hard, he opened up on not wanting to see guys get hurt, and with less than 10 games in the NHL to his name, that's something he will have to learn going forward. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing over 240 pounds, Rempe will always be seen as a physical threat on the ice, but if he can channel that and use his body wisely, he's certainly going to stop himself from fighting every night, and will preserve his health for much longer going forward.
Only time will tell whether or not Rempe has learned all of this by watching the games during his suspension, but if he can learn that control, the New York Rangers may have a monster on their hands that can play smart and physical, which will be a huge help come the playoffs.
