The New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette opened up about the brutal and vicious hit from Islanders' Adam Pelech on Mika Zibanejad last night.

On Tuesday evening, the Rangers and the Islanders battled it out in an intense matchup. Patrick Roy's team ended up winning that crucial game 4-2, taking the lead in the race for the last Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
In the third period of the game, Isles' defenseman Adam Pelech stood in the neutral zone, and Mika Zibanejad entered in a violent collision with him.
Watch the incident here:
While it's hard to see who should get blamed for that dangerous manoeuver, Peter Laviolette shared his thoughts in his post-game press conference and he didn't hesitate to blame Pelech.
"He came back at the end. From that vicious hit. From that vicious shoulder elbow to the head. Watch it."
With Laviolette's statement, the NHL's Department of Player Safety could decide to review the incident. It'll be interesting to see if they make an official declaration about the situation in the coming hours.
Stay tuned.
