After years as a top goal scorer with the St. Louis Blues, Vladimir Tarasenko is now heading north of the border following his second half stint with the New York Rangers.
A new life for the veteran
Earlier today, it was reported that Tarasenko would be headed to the Ottawa Senators, likely to replace the role of Alex DeBrincat from a season ago, and now, the details have officially been released.
The deal will be one-year worth $5 million, and given the free agent market this off-season, this deal has to be seen as a win for both sides.
Playoffs for Ottawa?
With the addition of Claude Giroux last season to an already talented forward group, the Senators came into 2022-23 confident they could make a playoff run, and despite a solid push, they came up short in that goal.
Still, this is a very talented group, and after adding a goal scorer that has tallied 52 goals over the past two seasons, it's safe to say that there will be plenty of optimism in Ottawa once again in 2023-24.
