Brady Tkachuk has been linked to a blockbuster trade several times in recent memory, and now the Senators captain has opened up on the rumours.
Over the past few years, the Ottawa Senators have struggled to live up to their playoff expectations, and it's led to plenty of trade rumours in the nation's capital, with Spittin Chiclets' Ryan Whitney predicting a trade will be done soon.
The sens have something cooking right now. Rumor Boys hearing that Ottawa would maybe move Brady Tkachuk. Can't believe it though because no one could be that dumb. 9 points out of playoffs with 2 games in hand
Now, Tkachuk has finally addressed all of the rumours on the Locked on Senators podcast, revealing that his goal is to remain in Ottawa and bring the first title to the city in almost 100 years.
"[The rumours] are exactly why I got off of social media because these rumours came out of no-where and are not at all how I'm feeling. I've always said that my number one goal is to bring a Stanley Cup back to Ottawa /.../ the dream and the fire to do it burns even more now, the rumours are nowhere near true." Tkachuk said.
Currently, the Senators forward group has plenty of potential with Tim Stutzle, Shane Pinto, Drake Batherson and others alongside their captain, and with the recent arrival of Linus Ullmark, it's clear that Tkachuk and this team have plenty of optimism heading into the 2024/25 campaign.
