Ottawa Senators young forward Tim Stutzle has fired his agent and switched to a new one, which has sparked rumors that he may want to be traded.

Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stutzle is an on-the-rise star who has headlined recently due to a change in player agents. This invites speculation about what this may mean for his future with the team. When players change their representation, much of this could be due to some underlying dissatisfaction or, at the very least, a desire to feel out new opportunities, not necessarily meaning he wants a trade.
Changing agents is often a sign that a player wants to reassess his representation and start to look in a different direction concerning contract negotiations and other professional matters. Although Tim Stutzle is signed with the Senators until the end of the 2030-31 season, this may indeed be a move by him to position himself for a more lucrative contract down the line or at least leave his options open in case he feels the direction of the team isn't trending in a way he'd like. Either way, it's got the people in Ottawa talking.
Picked third overall in the 2020 NHL Draft, Tim Stutzle developed into a cornerstone for the Senators. Fast, skilled, and a playmaker, Stutzle has quickly become one of the fan favorites and is expected to be an important piece for the Senators as they go through the rebuilding process. These haven't been easy times to be a Senator. From perennially posting one of the league's worst records, to the uncertainty that looms over the ownership situation and the ever-elusive downtown arena.
To this day, neither Tim Stutzle nor his new agent has made any comments about leaving Ottawa, but indeed, this move has lit the rumor mill on fire. Supporters and pundits alike will be keeping a close eye on any indication that maybe Stutzle is thinking of a new beginning with another NHL team. That might be because he is thinking he wants a win-now scenario and doesn't want to wait for a lengthy rebuild. The Senators will have to show him that they're serious about winning this upcoming season.
Tim Stutzle, the Senators' third overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, has scored 91 goals and added 156 assists for 247 points in his career, which spans 285 games. He hasn't suited up in a playoff game in his young career.
