Carson Brière, son of Philadelphia Flyers' GM Daniel Brière and former NCAA player was caught in a controversy a couple of months ago.
He went viral after he pushed a wheelchair down some stairs. Since then, he's been kicked off his college hockey team and it was announced that he could have some legal troubles.
Mark Scheig, reporter for The Hockey Writers, has shed light on Brière's legal issues, announcing the former athlete will have to stand trial on accusations of criminal mischief, conspiracy, and disorderly conduct.
"Brière, former Mercyhurst hockey player, has a district court appearance in Erie on Monday morning to respond to charges of criminal mischief, conspiracy, and disorderly conduct. The hearing is set for 11am."
What's still cloudy is whether these allegations have their roots in the controversial wheelchair incident, or if they are a consequence of a separate set of transgressions.
