Michkov, on loan in the KHL from SKA St. Petersburg with HC Sochi, has been dominating for Sochi this season, with 11 Goals, 15 Assists & 26 Points in 29 Games, along with a game for SKA before his loan move.
Michkov was selected 7th Overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, considered to be one of the top prospects in a loaded draft class, but fell due to uncertainty over his struggles to find a place on a stacked SKA squad and the ongoing Russian war with Ukraine, as well as a contract with SKA until 2026.
The return for Michkov is unknown. Pneumonia can become a serious health issue, but with the medical treatment Michkov is provided, one can hope for the best and that Michkov comes back able to play at the same elite level.
