Carter Hart is one of five players involved in the trial coming from a 2018 World Juniors incident with Team Canada, and now, it appears he's looking to return to hockey. Michael McLeod and Dillon Dube have both already signed deals in the KHL, and while Alex Forementon is retiring from hockey, Cart is on his way to a return.
Despite having to give a pre-trial statement, Hart was excused from attending along with the other five players, with attendance excused because it would be impossible for him to continue his training regimen.
It was the second part of that statement that drew the most attention however, as it was revealed that Hart, looking to move from Alberta to Tennessee to continue his training was denied access to the United States.
Due to this, he has hired an immigration lawyer to help him officially make the move, and while it's unclear if he will be allowed following the move, it certainly shows that he's committed to making a hockey return. With two of the other players involved already moving to the KHL, one would simply expect Hart to follow suit, but as of yet he has not done that, so we will now wait and see how everything plays out for the future of the former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender.
