We've learnt as a hockey community in recent times how precious life can be, and after celebrating the life of an icon, there's now more devastating news.
The hockey world has gone through some tough times over the past few weeks, and now there has been some heartbreaking news out of Quebec, as a 21-year old goalie named Zachary Bourassa has passed away during a ball hockey game. While playing a regular game of ball hockey with his friends in the Trois-Rivières tournament, the worst happened for Bourassa, with this eye witness statement given after the tragedy.
The medical staff on hand did absolutely everything that they could to help him, but unfortunately it just wasn't enough, as this tragedy shocked all those involved in the situation.

"Sometimes, we hear stories where a death could have been avoided if certain actions had been taken earlier. This was the complete opposite. If he could have been saved, he would have been. The people present acted like true heroes."
- A direct witness of the scene
It was later revealed by those present that he showed no signs of anything like this happening at any point, with the cardiac arrest coming out of absolutely nowhere. We send our condolences to everyone involved in the game, Zach's family and friends and anyone that witnessed such a tragic event, as he will be long remembered within the community.
