After some drama between Ivan Fedetov and the Philadelphia Flyers, he is slated to make his NHL debut sooner than previously expected after his KHL team has terminated his contract.

Ivan Fedetov and the Philadelphia Flyers have had an interesting relationship since he was drafted back in 2015. Fedetov has an NHL contract with the Flyers, however, he has never played in North America and was playing for the KHL's CSKA.
The dispute resulted in the IIHF ruling in favour of the Flyers, however, Fedetov and CSKA have been playing under protest of the decision, continuing his play for the remainder of the season.
Now, it has been revealed that Fedetov's contract with CSKA has been terminated, sparking assumptions that he will make his NHL debut sooner than expected.
Everyone's being very careful here for obvious reasons, but it is believed Fedotov is en route to beginning his NHL career for the Flyers. Wasn't aware until news broke this morning, but all sides have worked on a solution for the last few weeks.
Fedetov has had a great season in Russia this year, posting a .914 save percentage and a 2.37 goals-against average during his campaign with CSKA. He was banned from playing in official National and International games by the IIHF after his decision to stay with the KHL.
It is unknown when Fedetov will make his NHL debut with the Flyers, however, it now looks like it will be sooner than previously expected, and could be this season. What will be fun to see, for sure, is John Tortorella's response to the inevitable questions about it.
