The Pittsburgh Penguins fans can put their worries to rest. Sidney Crosby's contract extension is nearly finalized, reportedly a 3-year deal worth $10 million per season.

The only hurdle between his camp and GM Kyle Dubas is the guaranteed amount and payment schedule, but it's clear the 37 year-old will be staying in Pittsburgh for a while.
#LetsGoPens Crosby deal is close to being finalized. Still comes in at 3x10M AAV. The only holdup is how much is guaranteed and paid out in the beginning. Crosby is going to be in Pittsburgh for a while.
Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang are aging, making fans wonder if it's time to move on. After all, the Penguins have missed the playoffs the last two seasons after a remarkable 16-year streak.
Yet this Crosby extension shows it's not the case. We all hope this core group, which brought back-to-back championships to Pittsburgh in 2016 and 2017, have another run left in them.
Here's some highlights of 20 year old Sidney Crosby becoming the youngest player ever to captain the Penguins 🐧 to the first of FOUR Stanley Cup Finals, and becoming the youngest player ever to lead the playoffs in scoring.
Maybe third time is the charm for the trio to reach the playoff party again?
