A new prediction has been made today by TSN analyst Frank Corrado that puts a fresh outlook on the future of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are coming off of a frustrating season where they missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs despite loading up. Trading for Erik Karlsson was meant to be a win-now move that ended up backfiring. Due to their lack of success after the moves they made many are now doubting the Pittsburgh Penguins and their ability to contend.
Despite the doubt, the Penguins are continuing to make moves both for the present and the future. Earlier this month they traded for top college prospect Rutger McGroarty from the Winnipeg Jets. He would eventually sign with the team and is expected to make the opening night roster.
After all of these moves, NHL insider and former player Frank Corrado used his platform on TSN to make a bold prediction about the future of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Frank Corrado reveals a shocking prediction for the Pittsburgh Penguins season

In a new segment, Frank Corrado spoke about the Pittsburgh Penguins. He calls their season a win-now moment for the franchise. He also said that with a weak Metropolitan Division, the Penguins could get back in the race in 2024-25.
It's hard to believe that in "now or never mode" we are not going to see Sidney Crosby playing in the playoffs as a member of the Penguins, Corrado said. And this year specifically, the Metro is a little more wide open. Outside of the Rangers, and the Devils need to take a significant step, Corrado said. The Islanders aren't overly exciting. Carolina might take a step back. The Washington Capitals are trying to improve. You can put the Pittsburgh Penguins in that category.

He finishes off the conversation by saying that now is the time for the Pittsburgh Penguins to compete. He also admits that as long as Sidney Crosby remains their window to compete will still be open.
Maybe they have a chance, Corrado said. It's now or never for the Penguins, but with Sidney Crosby maybe playing for a few more years, we might see him in the playoffs one more time as a Penguin.
Heading into the 2024-25 NHL season GM Kyle Dubas has built up a team he thinks can compete for a Stanley Cup. For this to happen players like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Erik Karlsson need to return to elite form. On top of that new additions like Rutger McGroarty need to adjust to life with the Penguins quickly.
