The St. Louis Blues organization announced that their defenseman Torey Krug will undergo a season-ending ankle surgery.

Here's the official press release:
"St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that defenseman Torey Krug will undergo surgery to address pre-arthritic changes in his left ankle that will result in him missing the entire 2024-25 season.

The decision to undergo surgery was reached following an effort to rehabilitate the injury through non-surgical interventions."
Krug, 33, has been a key player in St. Louis' defensive unit for the past four seasons. The undrafted defenseman scored 39 points in 77 games last year. He took part in 778 NHL games for the Blues and the Boston Bruins, and scored 483 points in his career.
Losing such an important member of the defensive core will definitely be a hard blow for the organization.
Fortunately, with the acquisition of Philip Broberg from the Edmonton Oilers, they already have an interesting option to replace Krug.
According to Daily Faceoff, we should see the following pairings at the start of the next season:

Details will follow.
