In hopes of making a significant impact, teams sometimes trade an entire class of draft picks along with a promising defensive prospect for a single player. Unfortunately, the Tampa Bay Lightning's acquisition of Tanner Jeannot has been a disappointment. And now, it seems their struggles with him have only intensified.

During practice today, another player acquired during the deadline, Mikey Eyssimont, left the ice early, indicating that he would likely be playing that night. Meanwhile, Tanner Jeannot took extra reps, suggesting that he would be a healthy scratch.
There has been no official confirmation of the changes, but Jeannot was the last forward to remain on the ice, indicating that he would not be dressed for the game.
This is particularly disappointing considering that not only did the trade for Jeannot cost the Lightning a significant number of draft picks, but now he may not even be on the ice as they potentially face the end of their modern dynasty.
The sequence of events in Tampa Bay is undoubtedly puzzling.
