After months of speculation, Auston Matthews, superstar forward of the Toronto Maple Leafs has now officially extended with the team.

A big extension

While it was rumoured for weeks that Matthews and the Leafs were close to a deal, nothing yet came to fruition, until Wednesday, when No. 34 revealed he will remain a Leaf.

After seven years and some incredible performances in Toronto, it appears Matthews wants to see this out and help the Leafs break their major Stanley Cup drought, so this is huge news for Toronto fans.
