In breaking news, the Toronto Maple Leafs have announced 28 cuts from their roster heading into the last week of training camp.

Leafs Make 28 Cuts to Roster Ahead of Final Week of Camp

The Toronto Maple Leafs had a high number of depth players looking to secure a roster spot with the team. After a week of evaluation, the Leafs have sent 28 players down to the AHL.
Forwards:

N. Abruzzese, J. Blandisi, M. Ellis, R. Hirvonen, B. Kressler, R. Mastrosimone, D. Ovchinnikov, J. O'Brien, N. Shea, L. Shaw, T. Singleton, J. Slavin, A. Steeves, K. Suthers, R. Tverberg, T. Voit, T. Weiss

Defencemen:

N. Dillingham, M. Hellickson, T. Niemela, M. Pietroniro, M. Rifai, J. Tychonick, W. Villeneuve

Goaltenders:

L. Cavallin, D. Hildeby, V. Peksa
Of the cuts made, the most notable were Nick Abruzzese, Alex Steeves, Topi Niemelä, and Marshall Rifai, who all spent some of Camp with the NHL-level group. These players will try and earn a spot throughout the year during their time with the Marlies.
There were no announcements regarding Eastan Cowan, Fraser Minten, and Spencer Sova who will be assigned back to their respective junior teams in the likely chance they don't make the roster.

No waiver assignments announced yet. Fraser Minten, Easton Cowan, and Spencer Sova yet to be assigned to junior too
