The news was first broken by Luke Fox but has since been confirmed by many others.
The interesting aspect here is that Samsonov filing for arbitration opens a second buyout window for Toronto, which could help them get rid of Matt Murray's contract.
This could be the saving grace that the Leafs needed to get Samsonov extended while moving our money.
