Elliotte Friedman Gives Bombshell Update on William Nylander's Contract

During intermission of the Leafs and Sharks game last night, Elliotte Friedman gave a massive update on William Nylander's contract status. It had previously been reported that Nylander and the Leafs were close to getting something done, and Now Friedman believes something could be done by Monday.

All the reports of Nylander's next deal are centred around $11.25-11.5 million AAV. This is a massive jump from where the parties were earlier this season, where Nylander was believed to be pushing for a $10 million range.

It seems like Nylander hasn't let any of the contract talks get to his head, as he has continued to push himself this season. He was able to tally two goals last night against the struggling Sharks, putting his point total up to 54 points in 37 games.

Now, the Leafs and Nylander are pulling for a potential All-Star bid through the NHL's fan voting. There is a good chance that Nylander could make it, and he definitely has the numbers to do that.
