In game three of the best-of-seven series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers, the Leafs once again scored first. However, like the previous two games, the Panthers emerged victorious, leaving the Leafs just one game away from being swept.
Although the series is not over yet, many hockey analysts believe that the Leafs are wasting a golden opportunity, as several cup contenders, including the Boston Bruins, have already been knocked out in the first round.
It is evident that if the Leafs lose this series, major changes will be necessary in Toronto. The team and its core players have not been able to deliver, and it may be time to dismantle and rebuild, a move that perhaps should have been made sooner.
