The Leafs made a massive addition to their training camp roster but they didn't invite any big name free agents or agree to a professional tryout with anyone. Instead, they brought in the literally massive Kennan Suthers.
Suthers, a Tecumseh Ontario native, spent last season in the East Coast Hockey League with the Leafs affiliated Newfoundland Growlers. While his production there was reasonably strong with 18 goals and 40 points in 56 games, it was a major improvement on his NCAA scoring. Suthers Spent the previous season with the University of Maine, in which he recorded just 13 points in 30 games.
What really stands out above all of this though is his size. Listed at 6'8", 245 pounds, Suthers would easily be one of the biggest players period in the NHL were he to crack a lineup at some point.
