Martin Saint Louis Calls Out Mike Babcock in Latest Interview
In his most recent interview, Canadiens head coach Martin Saint Louis had some choice comments about former coach Mike Babcock.
«You have to evolve as a coach. If you're going to the dentist, are you going to the dentist that's got the 30 yr old equipment, or are you going to the dentist.. you know what I mean? You want to stay in the business, you have to evolve»
Saint Louis' analogy comparing coaching to dentistry cleverly implies that Babcock's time as a coach has passed. Instead of old equipment, it is old philosophy and culture that seems to be the problem with Babcock.

Martin Saint Louis knows What He is Talking About
Saint Louis has a lot of credibility here. Not only is he an NHL head coach, but he is one that has proven to be effective in getting the most out of his younger players, something Babcock has had difficulty with. Most notably, Cole Caufield, who had struggled under Dominique Ducharme, was suddenly back to his peak form as soon as Saint Louis was brought in.
