The Toronto Maple Leafs have made several significant additions this offseason. Players like Max Domi, Tyler Bertuzzi, and John Klingberg will all be key contributors. Even with these additions one major hole in the lineup still exists.
Replacing O'Reilly
Ryan O'Reilly spent the end of the 2022-23 season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a fantastic option at third line center as he had a good balance of offensive skill and defensive responsibility.
Unfortunately for the Leafs O'Reilly took his talents to the Nashville Predators this offseason. Now the Leafs are still searching for their replacement to anchor the third line. Now one source has pointed out the perfect replacement.
Adam Henrique is still currently a free agent. The 33-year-old has spent the last six seasons with the Anaheim Ducks. Before that he was a crucial player for the New Jersey Devils.
The hallmark of Henrique's game is his solid two way game. Henrique would bring stability to the Leafs lineup both offensively and defensively.
He also would add another veteran player in the locker room with plenty of playoff experience.
The best part of a Henrique addition is he would be a cheap option. With Henrique still being available he will likely sign near the league minimum. This would allow for the Leafs to continue looking for upgrades in other areas as well.
