This NHL insider has just revealed John Klinbgerg's fate in Toronto, and whether he will play another game this season.

Elliotte Friedman Reveals Klingberg's Injury Status Likely to Keep Him Out the Rest of Season

John Klingberg has been a mystery since being placed on long-term injury by the Leafs. His hip injury has kept him out since the trip to Sweden and is something that he has been dealing with his entire NHL career.
Now, Elliotte Friedman has revealed on his 32 Thoughts podcast that Klingberg is likely going to be out for the rest of the season.
Elliotte Friedman on 32T:

«Klingberg, there should be clarity this week. We're expecting him to be out for the year»
The injury stems from Klingberg's past, where he received hip surgery in 2014. Since his surgery, he hasn't been as mobile through the hips and hamstrings as he'd like.

Leafs Will Need to Bring in More Bodies on the Blue Line

This pretty much confirms that the Leafs will need to bring in another defenseman to make up for the amount of injuries on their Bluieline. With Klingberg out, along with Giordano and Liljegren, its hard to imagine the Leafs making a significant playoff push with their current lineup.
Leafs have now fairly clearly made good deals with Bertuzzi Domi Benoit Gregor and are looking at Tanev + as adds. Seems good 👍. I like the present and future
With all eyes on GM Brad Treliving, Leaf fans are hopeful that he will be able to land the likes of Chris Tanev to replace Klingberg.
