Officiating has come under scrutiny following game 1 of Toronto's opening series. Leafs fans and players have been vocal about their dissatisfaction with the calls that didn't go their way.

Now, a fresh controversy involving the referees has emerged, with veteran NHL referee Wes McCauley facing accusations of bias against teams playing against the Leafs.

Interestingly, David Frost and Mike Danton, who were embroiled in a sexual assault scandal, are connected to this issue. McCauley and Frost are brothers-in-law, while Keefe and Danton share a strong friendship and are former teammates. These connections have led some fans to allege collusion and bias from Wes McCauley.
The Leafs' playoff record may not be particularly impressive, but they remained undefeated when McCauley officiated their games during the regular season. However, it's hard to ignore the potential bias when the Leafs lost eight consecutive games officiated by McCauley.
While it could be a mere coincidence, it's quite a remarkable one if true.
Nonetheless, it's essential to remember that officiating isn't everything, as there are other ways to score even when luck isn't on your side.
Is there genuinely something questionable happening behind the scenes? The rest of the series will reveal the truth as it unfolds!
