Rumor: Nylander Declines Move to Bottom-Ranked Team
The more the NHL offseason rolls on, the more the talk surrounding William Nylander's future in Toronto seems to intensify.
According to one insider, however, it seems as if Nylander has just avoided a situation where he'd be traded to one of the worst teams - and worst situations - in the entire NHL: the Arizona Coyotes.

As stated by @iamhockey1 on Twitter, Nylander had been considered in a trade package to the Coyotes for Clayton Keller, but the deal was nixed as the Swedish forward wouldn't have wanted to sign in the desert long-term.
Given how the Coyotes are playing in a college arena, constantly losing money, and having the threat of relocation perpetually breathing down their necks, this sounds like a bullet dodged not necessarily for the Leafs, but definitely for Nylander himself. Keller would look fantastic next to Auston Matthews or John Tavares, no doubt, but there are still likely better deals for all parties to be made if Nylander isn't extending in Toronto.
