The Toronto Maple Leafs recently added a former great player from the Arizona Coyotes, Shane Doan, to their team. Doan will be advising the Leafs' new General Manager, Brad Treliving.

People are curious about the specific role Doan will have in the team's hockey operations. Interestingly, Treliving used to be the Assistant GM for the Coyotes when Doan played there in the early 2010s. Now that they are working together again, there are rumors of another potential connection to the Coyotes.

Ekman-Larsson in Toronto?

There is also a possibility of a turnaround involving Oliver Ekman-Larsson , a veteran defenseman for the Vancouver Canucks. Ekman-Larsson and Doan were teammates in Arizona, and Doan even advised the Coyotes' GM when OEL signed his contract. Now that he is a free agent, Doan could help him revive his career. Although OEL may not be at his best like he was in Arizona, he still has the potential to be a valuable player in the right situation.
With the Leafs, he could potentially fit into a lower-level defensive role and contribute to the power play. With Justin Holl leaving and Mark Giordano getting older, the Leafs need affordable defensive depth, which OEL could provide.
