The Toronto Maple Leafs are coming off a critical victory against the Winnipeg Jets last night. Now the team could be poised to make a major move following new reports.

Leafs Send Pro Scout To Montreal Canadiens Game

Speculation online peaked today when it was revealed that the Toronto Maple Leafs had a scout in attendance for the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Islanders.
The Leafs have been in numerous trade rumors this season including Flames defenseman Nikita Zadorov, who was ultimately traded to the Vancouver Canucks and Marc-Andre Fleury, who has yet to be traded this season, but President of Hockey Operations Kyle Shanahan reportedly rejected the deal.

Leafs Trade Deadline Options Become Unclear

It is not clear what the Leafs will do at the trade deadline this year given how the team has performed so far. While the team is 3rd in the Atlantic division, they have just 15 wins in regulation. The team has not been very convincing as they head into the stretch run ahead of the trade deadline. Furthermore, they have already missed out on some of there trade targets. This could mean Brad Treliving will have a greater emphasis on making a trade deadline move.
That being said, the Leafs may not be particularly eager to make a move given that their future assets are already quite limited. Furthermore, the team has not been very convincing this year as a legitimate playoff contender. Anything is possible once you get in though, so we will just have to wait and see what Brad Treliving has in store for us.
